Hi everyone. As a result of logging my system at the strip yesterday I can confirm that the K&N unit does improve airflow over the standard paper one by up to 4kPa. Still not as good as MAFless but now seeing 98-100 kPa MAP at WOT.
I was dubious about the price (around £60 UK)and the claims, but I gained 2 tenths off my previous 1/4 ET.
That's dirt cheap!!!!!!

Am I right thinking its a straight swap for a standard filter and the MAF will sort out the fuleing so no remap as such would be needed?
Yep. Take old one out and slot new one in. Part Number 33-2116. I got mine from Monkfish as they had them in stock and I needed it quick. It was there the next day, so Primo service from them.MyM8V8 said:

What were the 60ft times between the two runs?

We'll get one fitted when we have the other jobs done. It will be interesting to see how my times improve. Gareth do you think my launch could do with some work?

Well you beat Stiggy of the line a couple of times, but remember he has a good tune in his motor which you don't.

K&N and no lipstick. No problem
However lipstick is the only thing that seperates me from the boys(other than Stig. He wears lipstick

Could have been colder than the last time you ran and that would have improved your situation LOL
Quite but track temps would be colder too, decreasing the amount of grip. Which is best, grippier surface or better inlet temps?Swings and roundabouts, and anyway we were only two weeks apart. First meeting started with dense fog as I recall and yesterday was gloriuos sunshine allday, sunshine.

did you note the map pressure with the engine off (i.e. atmos) for both runs to account for a different barometric pressure?
You are quite right of course, silly me! There could be a variance of up to 7kPa on average (i.e between 970 and 1040 millibars, excluding extremes, although I'm pretty sure each days weather was pretty similar. But OK hands up I've cocked up. I'll check both sets of figures.wolfracer said:
