I've just been playing this online, Beta testing..

It's actually, very good. I didn't think it would be that good when I was downloading it.. Going to play abit more when i've got more time but so far so good. You can only play till level 11 but heres what I think.

Maps - Their very good, the maps on COD4 are quite "Clean" these set the WW2 scene well.
Guns - Quite a few guns like the G3, single shot.. It's got a red dot kind of sight on some of them but obviously not Red dot, just a sight. Theres a few snipers, and "Sub Machine Guns" which are good too.
Grenades - You can get a kind of "Flash Bang" which is basically just a flare on a stick. You also get frags just as in COD4.
Game Types - I've played Capture-The-Flag, War and TDM. TDM is self explanatory, same with CTF. War is just headquarters really.

You can definately tell it's using the COD4 Infinity Ward engine, but seeing as COD4 was such a good game.. It's a good move imo.

So far I think it's good and will be buying it when it comes out.

The new Bond game based on the COD4 engine and the story from he two latest films is meant to be quite good.

Cool, I didn't know there was a new one coming out.

Hopefully IW will make the engine even better for COD6 without ruining it.

I just had an email waiting in my inbox from Treyarch.. Guessing it's because I was on the Charlie Oscar Delta forum and the new COD forum aswell.

If you Pre-Order the game you can also get the Beta code sent to you via email.

Alright after playing this for an hour or so I'm gonna give my opinion on it.

Its definately fun. The guns and perks are a nice change. Somehow it doesn't look as good graphically as COD4.

The whole experience it just felt like an add-on pack for COD4, or a modification more like.

The tanks are pathetically small, and while they are fun they just seem like something thats been tacked in the game to spice things up.

Overall its fun, the levels seem good, but it definately doesn't warrant paying £40 for.

Maybe the single player will be better I don't know. It just seems like a modification rather than a new game. The perks while they have different names are exactly the same as COD4.

Have fun guys but I am definately not getting this one straight away.

The download is being raped during the day so I'd start it now if you can.

I only got 20 per cent in an hour when I received mine, then at around 1am it did the remainder in 10 mins.

Played for about an hour or two (Gamertag - 'veuve rico'). It's weird, at first I really didn't like it. Felt like a backwards step from COD4, very similar in fact to COD2. Just felt slower, less smooth, just not as refined as COD4, but then this is a beta so don't know if its an indication of the final version.

Felt fooking weird getting 7kills then calling in dogs! Not quite as cool as a helicopter gunship, but they got an extra 3 kills so no problems there. Knife is DEFINITELY the best weapon against dogs.

Like polar said, tanks are way too small. Feel like driving a Smart Car! Bit gutted that firing the tank's cannon at a wooden door didn't obliterate it. That would make it a huge amount of fun. Blast door, then change to machine gun and rinse the lot biggrin

I think we've all been spoilt by COD4 as it is just a superb game. I've never been one for first person shooters, but COD4 is immense.

Not sure on the non-deathmatch modes. I think COD4 wins here as the simplicity of the game style is perfect. I guess COD5 will improve imo here as I play more.

Overall - can't complain for a freebie! biggrin

Also... the screams of the artillery shells coming in is fooking scary!!! Horrible sound! Definitely felt more realistic than the plane bombs in COD4.

Thinking about it, COD5 definitely feels more realistic in terms of feeling like you're actually on a battlefield. It's all too easy to get separated from the reality of warfare in COD4, but in COD5 I think its better to give a taste of what it would have been like in WW2.
