So, Mandy is going to continue to receive £234,000 over the next three years as 'transition relief 'for being in the European Commission. It'll also be at a preferrential tax rate set for EU officials. Because it'll be tough adjusting to life on £104,000 per year for his cabinet role. All funded by the tax payer. Oh and another £15,000 for resettlement in London.

Oh and as he's not an MP, he's been given a Lordship to allow him to sit in the House of Lords in order to hold a cabinet position.

0720 and my piss is boiling already. Cock.

At what point does the general populace turn to anarchy?

This government are treading a very fine line towards assasination attempts by their own subjects.

Surely there is only so far someone will take the finger?

Just read this and it's a fking joke.

Bearing in mind Mr G Brown not only fked up the economy and helped create the credit crunch, he is now constantly reminding us how hard it's going to be with 1000's losing their jobs already.

Not the case if you're an old enemy that just might be able to help save his skin.

Jobs for the boys and an insult to the British workers.

Can we make it 8.00 am sharp? I'm no good in the mornings unless I've had a couple of cups of coffee.

scratchchin

It's just beyond a joke now. I've just sat here pondering who's more of a joke, the FIA or the Government. It's a tough one.

byebyeHello GCHQ, just idle speculation here. But if you do speak to Gordon, tell him to stop fking around and piss off. Thanks

Guy Fawkes had the right idea... It seems times haven't changed all that much.

You think that's bad? I heard on the news this morning that the Labour party are starting to climb back in the popularity polls because Brown has been "decisive and strong" about the whole thing.

I hope that's because the man on the street hasn't yet started to feel the pain. There's no quick fix to this as far as i can see and it's going to hurt.

Great solution!

Use public money to bribe a big name back so Browny looks as if he is heading a government of stature as opposed to a load of bit player yes-persons whose prime quality is that they won't argue with him.

I have noticed changes at the supermarket I work at, huge reduction on cashback when paying with a debit card for example, most people would ask for 10 or 20 and a few for 50, now I'll only get a handful asking for 10, most just go "Ummm, no, better not actually".

More people are buying items on offer, especially if they're ones that will last a long time such as dried pasta or things in cans.

But then I work at a rather more "upmarket" supermarket (not M&S) so I think our customers are being careful without actually being worried too much. No idea what it's like in Tesco and Sainsburys, or Somerfield.

If you work at the upmarket supermarket I think you're referring to, I've never seen anyone getting cashback. Most of the customers at the one I go to are old dears who've no idea what a debit card is. Chip and PIN? Forget it - it's difficult enough remembering where they live.

Depends on when you go, certainly on Mondays we get a lot of the pensioners asking for cashback but on Saturdays when it's the Mum or Dad doing the family shopping, then you normally get a lot of cashback requests. There are times when I've had too many cashback requests and not enough people paying in cash and I've ended up running out of notes.

But it has definitely quietened down on that front. The number of people shopping is still steady but the little extras are dropping.

I've noticed retailers offering discounts without even being asked about them - got £40 quid off a Paul Smith suit and another £50 off a LCD TV at the weekend...

Perhaps this thread should be merged with the "Bankers losing their huge bonuses" thread as they're all as bad if you ask me.

Everybody's ripping off everybody else-little wonder so many posts talk about anarchy is there?
