hi all, went on my first longish run in my cerb this weekend. after about 70miles of motorway driving i stopped at roundabout and was greeted with lots of white smoke from the bonnet and underneath of car and plastic burning smell.
quickly pulled over, evacuated car and lifted bonnet. called aa and the very nice man found a piece of burnt plastic on exhaust manifold. washer pipe. which fits as when i was checking the day before the washer pipe had came apart and the one end was melted which i cut off and re joined.
continued on journey but smoke was still present although less of so assumed it was just burning off what was stuck to manifold.
after about another 70miles still smoke although not as bad and eventually after a few miles of local roads it stopped.
feeling relieved i parked the car and had a great nightout.
started car up to go home, no smoke. however when i got to the end of the motorway on my way home approx 140miles the smoke was back with a vengence! got home and opened bonnet again. smoke from under car and rear wheel arches and also from rear of engine coming up between the vee.
have started car with top plastic cover removed and let car get warm but no sign of smoke? seems to only appear after a longish run?
however have still parked car up and do not want to usse it until i know for definate the source of smoke and burning smell.
any and all ideas welcome.
thanks rob.

I had this and it was one of my oil hoses split and spraying oil onto the exhausts when accelerating etc.
Check oil level first - if ok start her up until warm and give her a good few blips on accelerator upto 5,000 revs or so - do this for a minute or two and then check for oil on floor.
Mine was a cheap fix, I think the hose was about £20.
Good Luck
