Some help from someone who knows watches please??

Hi all
I am after a timepiece that will go with smart and casual use, and want something a little different.
I like this but difficult to tell quality from photos, and although it is "only" a couple of hundred quid if it is going to fall apart I would rather keep my eye out for something else!

Would be interested on opinion - other option is to try and find a second hand Heuer Carrera Re-Edition or similar.

OK well first off I think it looks flippin' horrible, but that's just my opinion, your mileage may vary.
Secondly, from the photo only, I would doubt whether that is a genuine Unitas movement - compare for example with this pic. of the same movement in my Stowa: here
If you like that Panerai-esque style then I'd suggest looking at the PRS-20 - here, only £335.00 new and certainly very well made.
Alternatively, for something a little bit different buy the beautiful Alpina regulator in the classifieds here ... I'm sure the seller is a really top bloke ...

Without a shadow of a doubt that thing is fugly. At that budget I'd be looking at classic 60's vintage omega, that'll give you a classic watch for life that will only ever go up in value as opposed to that christmas cracker mess.
Ha ha - ok maybe I had a bit of a taste bypass this morning, just thought it was a bit different! I have been checking a lot of the old Omegas on ebay but just don't know what watches are priced correctly, and which would be a load of old tat (if any)??Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
