Dear Artie,
I've just recoverd from 3 broken ribs having fallen off my JCB (yes it happens). I can tell you they are bu**ery. They are now healed but one has healed stuck out at a slight angle because the only way I could find to cope with the pain was to bind them up so tight they didn't move. And we tell our patients to not bother - not any longer I won't. My sympathies to you old chap.
Regards
Paul C

I can sympathise with you old bean. In 2006 I got it big time at LeMans in my Hayabusa powered Chesil Speedster. Sat at home for 7 months! Discovered Pistonheads during that time and it really helped. Nearly 2 years later I found out a lot of info on the crash posted on PH. Somewhere on the Noble forum one of the boys posted my xrays for me. Don't think I or any other Nob owners have slowed down though!

Collarbones take about 6 weeks im afraid, have done both of mine through mountain bike racing.
2 years ago had a nasty crash in wales and i broke my knee, pretty much snapped off the end of my femur and broke the cartilage up, after a few attempts to get it sorted Guildford hospital cocked it all up. Been referred to Stanmore to the National Orthopedic Research Hospital and they sent some cartilage to Holland I think it was to grow it! then 6 weeks ago had op to put it back in adn have some bone grafted onto the end of my femur. Been in plaster for last 6 weeks so know how your feeling mate, comes off tomorrow though!
Daytime telly is shocking!!!

I have to laugh. When you look at the injuries we all seem to get, most of them are inflicted by us doing crazy things that will always eventually catch us up. I know we all s
g off the NHS, but can you imagine a world without it. I spent 63 days in intensive care in France at a cost of £1500 a day! But be warned when it happens abroad (Europe) the NHS only pay for about 85% of the bill. Always take out travel insurance. Without it,I'd of had to find another £15k!

Sorry Olly, but that's small potatoes compared to my shunt, I woke up with 72 pieces of metal holding me together, and spent 2 years on sticks...Still, the final outcome is OK - the compensation payed for a brand new Noble and a house in Spain 2 years ago had a nasty crash in wales and i broke my knee, pretty much snapped off the end of my femur and broke the cartilage up, after a few attempts to get it sorted Guildford hospital cocked it all up. Jenx, I'm almost tempted to say 'you lucky b
d' but it sounds ridiculous! My mate was driving my Speedster believing his full comp covered it. It didn't. I lost a £25k car and didn't pursue a personal injury claim as it would've come from his house! With the time off work, the car, the lack of personal injury claim and the bills I've been picking up for dentistry etc since, I reckon I'm down by £150k.

I now want to know the story! Plus are you, or will you ever fully recover? I'm putting off a new hip for as long as possible coz I'm 41 so look twice my age getting in and out of the Nob!
Its also nice to know you have scrap value when you snuff it, titanium is quite pricey these days
