Well, not exactly dead, just passed on to Vicki's cousin.

but...

I have inherited another member of the family fleet ... it has been seen at a couple of PH events over the years and, not too shabby for the mantle of new uber-cruiser I have to say.

Looking good to me. What engine is in it?

2.8 petrol. Perfect for what I need it for and gives me an average of high 20s and over 30mpg on a run.

Anyway, as I decided with the 850 ... a V12 would be wasted on my 1.5 mile to work each day

It's just a really nice, exec car. It has all the usual bits and pieces plus, leccy steering wheel, seats thigh support and groovy little lights under each door handle that light up when you press the remote to unlock it

Only thing I do need for it is a CD player ... Vicki's mum has been using it for the last 8 years and has never had a need for one ... and I chucked all my cassettes out years ago!

Nah, BMW are a loooong way from the dark side Scott ... that's usually reserved for the Stuttgart boys or the Sant Agata lot

Not to mention a rather nice little remote control courtesy of Ericsson.

Always had a soft spot for E38s, I was on the way to buy a 750il when I got sidetracked by the 928 I bought which subsequently got me this job so in a roundabout way I owe it to the E38.

had thought about that too ... but then I forget what I have on the iPod and there's something quite pleasant about scouring the CD rack (cupboard) for the next batch to put in the car.

When was the last time you listened to that Mighty Whah album or Jason and the Scorchers ... you'd never think about them if they were on your iPod I tell ya
