...I've got a longish road trip coming up this weekend, I've got a 4GB MP3 player to fill, ready to be blasted out of the car stereo. I'm into anything and everything, most of all I'm after getting all those songs you hear in the car on the drive home, love, then forget all about when you pull onto the drive...

[kit80]

New Kings of Leon album is amazing, also the Pendulum album, good driving tunes!!

Also classic driving song I just have to listen to when on a long Journey...

DJ Tiesto - Motorcycle (As the Rush Comes) - classic cool dance track with lyrics "travelling somewhere, could be anywhere, there's a coldness in the air but I dont care"

I may well be back with more, I love music.

Ah! Also, Bloc Party's albums are excellent for road trips.

their album - lets get out of this country - is perfect for sunny day roadtrips but may still inject some sunshine into a grey day.

I've merged the two!

[TedMaul]

Anything by Offspring is good for driving, Ixnay on the Hombre probably best, but new album is very, very good, almost a return to their best.

Running Down a Dream - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is best driving song ever (imo)

A few of my favourites

I am the Resurrection - The Stone Roses
Gods Cop - The Happy Mondays
Run - Snow Patrol
Girl all the Bad Guys Want - Bowling for Soup
One to Another - The Charlatans
Voodoo People - The Prodigy
What can you do for me - Utah Saints
Little Fluffy Clouds - The Orb

also, try 'chess classics' or the atlantic r&B collection.

thats r&b as in pre rock&roll not the modern toss.

Took me ages to find out the music used for the Tesco's Fred & Florence clothes range awhile back.
A Country Mile, great chill out track.

Yello keeps me smiling on long trips also Stone Roses, Muse, Black Uhuru, Gil Scott Heron,
Magic Numbers, Echo and the Bunnymen... very eclectic but most moods and speeds catered for!

[wadgebeast]

Depends if it's day or night doesn't it?

Try MGMT (you'll recognise it as soon as you hear it), Absolution by Muse, Quireboys if you're after some fun daylight loud stuff. One of my favourites has always been the Best of James.....
