More info here i know its in the chim forum but a shock is still a shock and i think joospeed has fitted them to his V8S

However what most probably don't know is that the TVR fitment AVO dampers I use are never fitted with std springs, even my AVO kit has been subjected to significant track time, just as I did 600 track miles proving the basic Nitron kit worked (all you people running the std Nitron cerbie tuscan kit from anywhere else are on my initial development spec - joospeed customers however have the choice of about 9 different nitron kits alone only available through me) , so I did the same with the AVO and teh Redline kit. Now you can go and buy the AVO dampers anywhere you want .. any number of places will be only too willing to take your money (one place I dealt with recently had them marked up by 150 percent!!) .. however as you said your springs are past their best, what are you going to do there? does the specialist at castle combe have a bespoke TVR kit they can do you? can they tell you what works and what doesn't? have they done a dedicated testing programme to prove the worth of what they offer? .. if they do then all well and good, but the chances are that you'll end up with something compromised.
Now my AVO kit is something like 550 pounds plus the dreaded, that's the price of the springs and dampers plus a bit for my development - the profit in there is minimal, I make a bit on the fitting of course but that's about it. Any of the independants will hopefully be able to sell you something similar .. ask them about their testing programme, who they used, where they did it, etc (I use a current GT racer, a current Porsche racer, a former touring car racer and a bloke who's a suspension adviser to minardi F1 team - and me of course ) so I'm pretty confident that what I end up with is fairly good. And that's what you pay for.
Just thought you'd like to know. Sorry if it sounds a bit like an advert Ted, but if you talk to any other independant then you'll see what they have to offer also.

did you you fit the 7.5 springs on the front i am just about to do mine but on measuring my existing springs they are 9" will putting smaller springs on raise or lower the car ?

1.5" shorter springs will lower the car by about 2" (but it will crash into the bumps stops before then). Normally you would compensate by winding the spring seats up 1.5", but I don't know whether those dampers will have that much adjustment on them.

i think i will investigate when i get them off and decide what to fit then
havnt got the car back on the road yet so will let you know soon on handling.the fronts were 7.5 inch and the backs 9 inch. ive got the car sitting at roughly the same height as it was b4 and there is still around half of the threads left on the shock so it could go up a bit still. one thought though, i'm getting the suspention settings done at a specialist, dont know if i have to do this with the shocks but i will feel more confident as i am not 100% about setting the car up. i have to get all the cambers etc checked anyway. the quality as far as i can tell is very good. the dampers also have an adjustment for damping and rebound (click system at bottom of shock). i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong but is this not the bit that effects how hard the car is on the road and the sring adjustment the height of the car?? one rally mechanic i spoke to suggested keeping the front slightly heigher than the back so that the car would'nt nose into corners? best left to the experts i think. my plan was to fit them myself as i rebuilt the car but get help with the set up.
With the AVO's, I think I have 8" fronts and 9" rears for the springs. They are fine to adjust the ride height to a little lower than the originals (which is what my car needed).
I would recommend 9" all round, I cannot imagine a 7.5" spring would have enough travel on a TVR before it became coilbound or, as GreenV8S said - hammers into the bumpstops!
