If you could travel to 1966 with one hundred thousand GBP for six months , then return to the present day,to reap what you`d sowed...... what would you buy ?

I wonder how much a Supermarine Spitfire was in 1966? Demand was about zero until they started making 'Battle of Britain' (1069 I think) and suddenly realised how rare they were.

Or maybe a chunk of prime Docklands...

Yep, I think I'd buy a chunk of Docklands (Isle of Dogs as was?) and live very nicely on the rent biggrin

A Van Gough, I'd imagine, only for resale purposes. I think he's a bit weird.

As much land as possible, maybe in somewhere like Tokyo or Hong Kong where the cash might go further.

You beat me to it with the Spitfire. In the mid 60s there were still a fair number of WW2 planes left, but the extreme majority of them were scrapped soon after the war.

I would have grabbed 100k's worth of WW2 planes, you could have still gotten your hands on Bombers and fighters... in the mid 60s were when the last Lancasters were being scrapped, I figure a Lancaster is worth ca £5-10 Million today in airworthy condition, if you could even get your hands on one. Back then £2-5k would have probably bought one!

Bet it all on England winning the world cup, with a hat trick being scored by Hurst: That should do nicely.

But you may lose it all that way. Gambling is for fools.
