I had a post about food snacking that I posted on P&P moved to food, drinks & resturants earlier. If I'd have wanted to post it in there I would have. Would it be possible to inform the OP before you move their post. I see loads of posts particularly in P&P that could be moved to other sub-catagories, should this one could go in food & drink too!

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... turnover from a fish and chip shop

It's all getting a bit Big Brother don't ya think?

If we had a DIY forum, you'd perhaps have a point.

Well done you.

Your post did concern food yes?

Whereas the fish and chip shop, concerned the turnover of a business. I could perhaps see a case to move it to Business.

Your point about being informed is one of pragmatism, it would just be too time costly. Theres a link thread left behind when its moved so its not like its done secretly.

As an aside, it would be nice when a thread gets moved, if the original post was left in along with the link to the new location, so we can decide whether it's worth the effort of going over there.

I have noticed quite a few general topics get moved to the food section and then hardly anyone reads it. The food section is great for recipes and very specific questions but threads like "Best pub snack" would have been much better off left in P&P.

Love the way you say "going over there" as if it's a half hour walk. All you have to do is move your right finger a couple of times, and if you don't like it, move your right finger a couple more times. Or am I overlooking something?

Just the fact that it's an extra click, with no idea what you are clicking for. My mum only lets me click the mouse 3498 times a day, so I have to be careful.
