Actually I thought the one about the British chav getting his leg trapped in the concrete fence panel was far more entertaining.

I don't see what the big deal is.

It could be worse - you could call yourself acid drop and drive round in an ancient purple Golf.

Now that would be embarassing.

Despite the poor colour choice I am sure the Golf is not a bad car.

But having lived in the US for 9 years, and being married to an American, and having an American kid, let me assure you that while a number of Americans are deserving of ridicule most nations have a sector of society equally deserving.

And while it is fair to look at a number of American personalities and politicians and assume that they are representative of an entire nation, they really only represent the ends of the bellcurve, the majority of people are generally decent.

It's a bit like judging Britain entirely on the basis of people starring in "You've been framed" or the British Cabinet.

Thats funny.

I just checked out your car history. Some very cool classics but you obviously got married and let it slip. I don't even know what a Ford Fusion is (Probably a people carrier).

There seem to be a lot of 'American bashing' going on at the moment. I've never really understood this as we seem to have a lot of our 'Cousins from across the pond' present on PH.

As has been mentioned, stupidity is universal, why keep singling out the yanks?

Granted to generalise all Americans was a little silly, but I have seen about 200 video's each with say 2-3 people in the frame, all americans, doing equally stupid things (also seen a fair few brits do it to). You saying the whole lot shouldnt be mocked for the acts for a few is fair, but thats going by what ive seen about a thousand do (in vids obviously) where as every american Ive spoken to maybe 4-5 thousand (granted over xbox live) have all assumed me and my friends have bad teeth because we are british. I was astounded to find they get this opinion from watching...............

AUSTIN POWERS!!!!!

off all the films to chose from. they use him as a steriotype. thing is, Im normally very good at telling when someone is just joking or being deadly serious, and they were all serious when they were saying it.

Also, if i give you some money, can you send me an American history text book, because, i get the feeling they are very dfferent in comparison to one from GB.

anyways, thats basically one reason im slightly tainted towards to american community, however, I love the place, and every one ive come into contact with from there has been sound.

lost track of what i was saying half way through, so that probably doesnt make sense, but hey ho, thats of the joys of just getting up, thus still being tired, and being a blonde

I have always found that people in Europe who are most vocal about their distaste for my land are those who know it the least. I certainly don't take offense.

Of course, I drive a Cadillac and own Pistols so I suppose I am in something of a Glass House.

George Bush...Sarah Palin... you have to assume at least half of Americans are retarded for voting for them? Now I know we like to bash our own leaders here...but compared to these two, our offerings to the world political stage appear a little more clever - even if you don't necessarily agree with their policies.
