Will these wheels fit an E46 M3

My dad has an E46 M3 with 19inch wheels and finds the ride too harsh, he's considering getting a set of 18inch M3 wheels to run it on if they will giv e a slightly softer ride.

My E39 530 sport has 18inch M parallels, does anyone know if the rim and tyre dimensions on these are the same as the 18inch M3 wheels? We'd like to try them on the M3 just to see how the ride comfort is changed - if any.

Go to www.realoem.com and look up the sizes and offsets for both cars, then post them here.

The ride on 18's is alot better, if you also go with 235/45 fronts and 265/40 rears you get another 1/2" of tyre profile which gives more bite and even more comfort, I am running this set up at the moment with Michelin Pilot Sport 2's and it is super for both handling and comfort.

I keep meaning to buy a set of 19's but the ride is just too good at the moment to do it.

Just thought, the hubs on the E39 are different so it won't work.

The offsets are actually more agressive than the M3 too so you would have got rubbing but would have been ok to test comfort, but also your tyres are a lower profile so probably no better than 19's so not really a good test anyway.

Where are you based?? maybe someone with 18's can meet up so he can have a ride in their car?

I seem to remember that E39 wheels fir an M3. They won't fit a standard E46 but M3 is fine IIRC
