I think all those that organise the nationals and CCCUK magazine put in a sterling job and i cannot and would not want to fault them as i think the work that go's into these events although satisfying must be very hard and stressfull.

But i would like to see the Nationals held at Santa pod,,so you could have a static show and an event together just like the Mopar Club,,also this would be nearer central for the rest of the country.

What do you guy's think?

Great suggestion I think. It would offer much more variety and allow people to see the cars doing what they were really made for.

I got really mad on Saturday at the Nats 'cos there were all these cars parked at the hotel with covers on to keep them shiny for the Sunday!?! What's the point of having a blinkin car if you don't drive it?

Something like the Mopar Nats would be right up my street.

Only problem is guys.

Santa Pod and Avon County Raceway are both Sh@tholes. If they had decent facilities I would be all for it.

I don't like Knebworth and think that the Novotel is an expensive dump.

Trouble is with our club too many people like to polish them rather than drive them.....

I agree. There's stuff all at Santa Pod. Not even a decent pub! I think there'd be a storm of protest trying to move the Nats from Knebworth, but an event held at Santa Pod in its own right would be a good idea. Maybe do something in conjunction with the Mustang owners club (nothing like a bit of rivalry on the strip)?

I have to agree with beerhead and vettehead, it would have to be supplementary to and not replace Knebworth and would stand most chance of success if it included other marques.

Maybe a specific event like the the 'Jap Performance Day', except it's Vettes, Vipers, Mustangs, etc. Might be worth talking to the organisers at the Pod and then see if we can canvass interest amongst the clubs ...

Nah it would have to be a "Corvette weekend" yes other marques could come along but for one weekend of the year it would be good if corvettes could have the main use of the facilities,,,what about Silverstone,,now that would be good!,,having a static show aswell as hearing V8s roaring round the track in the back ground and the noise of 0-60 runs going down.

No chance of a Corvette only day anywhere unless we are each prepared to stump up a lot of cash.

There are just not enough Corvette owners in the UK prepared to use their cars on the drag strip and/or track.

I vote for Trax 2004 and we should arrange a CCCUK session NOW so that we can get enough interested for a 20 car session. (This might include some Vipers if they are up for it).

Also do the 0-60 runs as this always gets the interest going.

I'd do Trax 2004, need to push this a lot within all regions of the club to get enough interest.

Youve got my ears nige ,or what about one of these Elvington type meets?,i know the 200plus club run similar events at different times of the year maybe we could get a"corvette Trax national"going at one of these meets.

It would be an advantage for someone like claremont, dart maybe Jeal&sons or real steel to sponsor such an show.

Ime sure if we approached 200plus they would listen if we wanted to stage an event inside an event.
