Where to snowboard this season
Discussion
Righty then..
Twice now I've boarding to Mayrhofen, Austria - Good Apres-Ski, Good mixture of runs (650km of pistes), good board park.
Went to Avoriaz/Morzine, but nightlife was s
te. Wouldn't be in a hurry to go back tbh.
By far the best powder I have experienced was Fernie, B.C (Canada). Get yourself there!
All of these holidays cost me <£500 pp all in. (just) and all were bought from Lastminute.com in nov/dec for a the first week in Feb, cos that's when my bday is. Don't go anywhere in Europe for the last three weeks of Feb, cos of Half term.
Enjoy the Season!

Me and mates are going to Tignes in France. Not the most architecturally inspiring place in the world but it's very high so guaranteed snow, and access to 100s of km of pistes as it also connects to Val d'Isere (but is not as snotty..).
I'd second that, great resort.hunt_the_fox said:
I would go for Les Deux Alps. Cheap rooms, easy transfer, guaranteed snow (due to glacier) and if you're brave a small hike off the back to La Grave.
Went there last Christmas. Got a last minute, Christmas week, 7 days, fully catered, shared chalet for 500 quid....for 2!! Don't be put off by shared chalet with strangers either, we had a right laugh, always like minded people in these places.Compared to Andorra it's bloody amazing. Only thing to watch for is if your up for the Apres $hit then make sure your accommodation is into the main part of town. We were right on the edge as you come into resort and it was a good 20min walk to the nearest pub....that's a problem when it's -5, your stiff as a board and there's no taxis or bus service!
Also, DO NOT use the equipment hire offered by the rep company. There a loads of shops dotted about and they're all similar prices. Nothing wrong with our hire place but it was a 30 min walk back to the chalet. See note above about taxis and crap bus service.
My boarding experience is limited but Les Deux Alpes is a vast resort with miles of brilliant runs, you will never be without snow either, as mentioned above.
If my misses wasn't up the duff we'd go back for Christmas again.

I've only been twice, last time was Chamonix this year which was good with plenty of runs.
Nice little nightclub in town playing good tunes - 'Cantina' IIRC.
Doing Meribel this season which has been highly recommended by a friend.
I'm off to meribiza in Jan, I know it very very well, happy to help if you want some advice on bars/runs etc.........Nice little nightclub in town playing good tunes - 'Cantina' IIRC.

I'd second that, great resort.PdS (les Gets, Morzine, Avoriaz) is great, and the Espace Killy (Tignes, VD) is worthwhile. Three valleys still good, but can be a bit low.
Speak to Marcellus on here - he runs a chalet in Les Carroz and may have some spaces left this winter. I've just come back from a short holiday there with him and his o/h Kate - out of season, obviously - but he was saying how superb the skiing/snowboarding is there and that I should go out in the winter to give snowboarding a try..
I am slightly biased but I'd second Les Carroz!!
Les Carroz actually has a better snow record than any of the resorts already mentioned in this topic, is less than an hour from Geneva, has 265km of pistes for all levels!
I'll offer all PHrs great rates!! www.kandmchalets.co.uk

I haven't decided on a resort this season.
I have been snowboarding for 7 years now and have been away once or twice a year (usually with the lads). This year i have decided to go with just the Mrs and myself as she has just learnt to ski and have never been to the mountains before.
i have been to alot of European resorts but any suggestions for a cheapish week (first week of march) where we could go. I was thinking 2alpes as have been here a few times and is a proper town with non skiing things to do.
