Id like to look at laptops, its just for net connection, no games or anything, maybe a bit of music, and downloading. Must be very cheap and be over a 1.2 processor. Seen the following.... what do you think?

any other suggestions?

For the use you're going to put it to, maybe a small desktop PC with flat screen would be better AND cheaper?

Totally agree with previous answer, only go for a laptop if you really need it, i.e. travel a lot or space is at a real premium. Although there are now systems being built in ever smaller chassis.. plus with flat screens beceoming more available and bundled..

Couldn't follow your link, but check out the following :

You need to decide exactly what sort of spec. you want and if you need it to be light or have long battery life, etc...

EuroPC who offer refurbs and end of line stock from some of the larger manufacturers and offer big discounts.. 3 year warranties, etc..

www.e-inbusiness-affiliate.com/u/europc/b.asp?id=1363

or

Dell

www.dell.co.uk

They have the usual, desktop, notebooks, servers, etc.. but then also look for their Dell Outlet menu (usually at the bottom right hand side of the initial window) who have time limited special offers and are direct from dell..

btw, I don't work for either of the above, but I'm also looking for a laptop and they seem to offer good value, imho.

I think this: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/product_page.jsp?z=100&service=UK&PRODUCT_ID=70862 was the one you were refering to Di - it's what I recommended, my dad having just bought one - only £580!

£580!

Better value than a portable dvd player

I'm tempted!
