Hi

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the stem seals on a 1600 xflow? I've tried the the standard type and the mini type but both don't appear to be very good fits and ride up and down on the stem! Both types i've tried have been genuine Ford parts. Any advice when be helpfull!

Cheers
Leon

My experience is the same as yours, they don't stay fixed to the top of the valve guide!

Last time, we put some other type on that had a steel outer shell of a different engine, not sure what engine though as they had been kicking around for a bit, these have worked to an extent put are not the real deal, seems to be a bit pants really. How are you expected to get it running well with it sucking in oil?

If I remember correct, an engine builder who built a crossflow or two for me used sierra cosworth oil seals. I would give Burtons a ring and get them to measure some. They are very narrow, so miss the inner spring on double valve springs needed on modded heads. The standard rubber jobs are a waste of time.

Totally agree, just had a butchers on burton web site and they look very similar to the ones we fitted. Thanks for the info.
