Who know this SV and what the cat C damage is/was? The prices seems excessive given its history.

Doesn't seem particularly cheap for an accident repaired car at £55000.
From what I remember reading on these forums, one PHer bought a similar yellow SV (not accident repaired) for a lot less than that.
£55k seems about right for a good unmolested car.

Shouldn't a 1999 car have the open headlights?

Definitely not a 1999 model year car. More than likely a 1998 car which has been registered late. Slightly misleading.

As to value, it would probably be worth around the £60k mark if it wasn't Category C. Very expensive at £55k IMHO. Needs to be closer to £45k if it is on the register.

Doesn't appear to be this one. Note transmission tunnel is trimmed in a different colour and rear spoiler different colour also.

I'd noticed but thought that maybe they were changed during the repair. I just thought maybe it could have been it because it's RHD too, although the photos are probably from Japan and look quite old.

It begs the question though that you would want to see some pre repair pictures before bidding. Can anyone ask the seller to email some? I am banned from Ebay after my Wife went on a spending spree hehe

I've emailed him there, see what he comes back with.

I'm almost certain this car was for sale when I was looking for my Countach. The fact it had been accident damaged stopped me even considering it. IIRC it was up around £60K then, 18 months or so ago. TBH, there's no way I'd pay £55K with the accident in it's history. I also seem to remember it took a long time to sell last time. If it was around £40-£45K though, someone could get a bargain there, assuming it's been repaired properly of course.

Yes, I know the car you mean.
It was on auto Trader about 5 or 6 months ago.
The guy took under £40000 for it.
There was a thread about it, but I can't find it now.
It is now owned by a Pistonheader.

You are right. The car is owned by one of my best friends (a fellow Pistonheader).
As we speak, the car is getting it's final hand polishing at the paint shop after a lot of cash has been spent on a full bare metal repaint.
It has also had new tyres, an expensive wheel refurb and a full service.
I do not know if he plans to keep it, as he has two other Diablos as well, but if it comes on the market, I do not reckon you will get much change out of £70k.

Don't think you would get anywhere near £70k for it in this market I'm afraid, regardless of condition. Unfortunately however much money you put into these cars you will rarely get it back come resale (as I know from experience!). IIRC it also had a 'high' mileage (36k+) so would also impact price. Best to hang onto it for a few years until the market recovers IMHO.

Small world.
My friend looked at that one too.
Nice car, but needed some tidying and there was an issue regarding that one having been pranged at some time too.
By the time my friend went back, the owner had sold it on very cheap.
He is now going to look at the orange SV at Top Gear Cars, advertised at £69950 as well as the blue Roadster.

Has it been repainted in the same colour? Or something a bit more personal? hehe

Come on lads and lasses, the Lambo world is not that big that there can be many in the UK which are unknown, some one out there knows this car.
Reason for asking is, I've been pondering a move to the dark side but I couldn't justify £55k on a cat C.
If it was £40k and could be prooved to have been repaired properly I would certainly have to consider it. Resale value wouldn't concern me overly as it would be a keeper.
Interesting that the Top Gear orange car has been mentioned. I've been plucking up the courage to take a peek myself, however I know I would find it dificult to view it objectively and chances are heart would override head. At £70k, does is it seem fairly priced given the market? To me it seem a tad high.

Maybe this with graphics removed? just found it on http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Diablo_SV....

or this with graphics removed, on a different reg? Bumper looks a different colour and lines look off on the bonet - maybe a bad repair job!

£70k for a car which had accident damage ? He'll be lucky.
