S Type 2.7V6D XS question for the knowledgeable!

Hi

We are just about to purchase one of these on a 2007/07 plate. Can you tell me if the stereo system is any good, it has the factory fitted cd/autochanger and i wonder if i can use my ipod on it?

Also, is the ride much different from a SE model? and finally i am used to xenon lights, were they fitted as standard on these, the dealer i am buying it from is very vauge about theses questions.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

You can only play the IPOD if it has the Audio Connectivity Module (ACM) fitted. This allows you to connect a USB stick as well, which I find even better.

The ACM is about £150 & takes a couple of hrs to fit or if your handy it's a fairly straight fwd DIY fit.

Where do I get one from?

an 'In Car' phone is been fitted next week, is this something that could easily be done at the same time given the parrott unit is to be interfaced with the car stereo?

Mine has the ACM module fitted, it fits in the centre console at the front. It allows iPod, USB 7 2 x Phono connections talk to the stereo. I don't use iPod (spit) but mine has a 2gB USB stick in with a shed load of mp3s on it & it's great! If you have a cd changer it allows that to work on pass through.

Not sure about the xenons I believe they could be standard by the time the XS came out.

Don't, buy this instead. No financial interest in this by the way, I am just a passing Samaritan (and S-Type owner) who doesn't want to see you saddled with an oil-burner.
