The pressure is definitely on, and remarks about being as good as Ayrton won't help.
For me, what he has going for him is he is up against an equally fragile driver in Massa. Kimi last season was the iceman and took advantage of Lewis's mistakes. Massa is not Kimi and i personally feel that it will be over this weekend with Lewis as WDC.

Massa is the one who appears to be cracking under the strain. His pass on LH was one of desperation and whilst I was thrilled with it, his pass on Webber was very risky indeed, almost as bad as the one on Bordais. Hamilton outbraked himself into the first corner. The move did not deserve a penalty. So apart from that, what did Lewis do wrong apart from be a target for Massa?

Correct Del, however that 1st corner lock up was a blatant block on Kimi, and took all the momentum out of his Ferrari. It put a serious Q against Lewis's name.?flat spotted fronts to canvas.
It does kind of remind me of the desperate situations Ayrton used to get himself into pre his first WDCin 88.
Remember Monaco, when he just stormed off home , or the time he went off rally cross style with no front wing.
Imagine the WDC so close you could almost touch it ?

So long as he qualifies well and can get away he'll be fine. I'd suggest he takes a very light fuel load for qualifying, enough to see him through to lap 10 on the soft tyres to get them out of the way, then he'll have a clear track with little to hit and the better tyres for the rest of the race. Obviously a 2-stop strategy and maybe with KR watching his back and holding the field up a little?
He just needs to finish with some good points (ideally 8) and play the percentage game. He tried to win the WDC at China last year with disasterous consequences.

I was watching the race with some friends, one of whom is a Kimi supporter, and he was furious about the move, although to be fair it was some other McLaren he and we felt was at fault. But our pet LH supporter came up with just what you said. 'Very Senneresque'. And I agree with your last couple of sentances. And especially so after last year.
I hate to say it, and I don't want to bring the wrath of LH supporters down on me, but I think he will win the WDC but only because Massa isn't good enough.

Sadly, I agree.No.
NEXT!Last year he had a 17 point lead going in to the last two races and threw it all away because of his "win at all costs" attitudem (staying out far too long on knackered tyres in China and trying to win the Brazilian race by the second corner).
This year he has only a 5 point lead, a rival who goes blindingly fast in Brazil and so is an odds on certainty to win the final event of the season, and what is increasingly looking like a governing body that doesn't want him to win.
And before the Lewis fanclub jumps down my throat let me just say that I actually really want him, and not the chubby kid from Brazil, to win it. I just don't think he will.
