A business friend needs £10k quickly. Is in the process of a re mortgage and needs the cash for a maximum of 3 months.
Has a £60k boat that he is willing to put up as security.
Any ideas?

Why not take the boat to a pawnbroker - get the 10k, repay and get the boat back when required. What kind of boat?

2 major issues with that. Recession and winter....

I have managed to find the funds myself and have struck quite a lucrative deal with him.

Well if its worth £60k I will give him 10K CASH now, and no brokerage fees either.

Couple of k to get him beat up by some local hardmen?

Put him out of commision for 2 months, his deal falls through, you keep the boat.

What value do you put on your concience?
