if the previous owner on my car bought it from a VW dealership, do i still have the approved warranty?

I'd guess not but if it were transferable the previous keeper would probably have to of had sent of a change of ownership form that would most probably be in the warrenty booklet.

If the car is within the original 3 years then yes. If the car had an extented warranty the previous owner would need to notify the warranty company and pay a small nominal fee.

If the vehicle was purchased with a used car warranty from VW then it will still be valid even after a change of ownership. Any VW dealer in the uk can access a system called dialog and be able to see if the vehicle has a valid warranty on it. Just give your local dealership a call and quote your reg number and they'll be able to tell you.
