Anyone got experience of prices of the following?

4.5 or stroker crank
Bearing sets
Head gaskets
Valves
Tappets

My 4.2 engine never really got any interest so I'm think of converting it.....

Not sure there's any mileage in changing the valves, I'm prepared to be corrected, but it's all quite tight in the compustion chambers already.

Also, I assume you mean 'shims' rather than tappets, as the AJP8 doesn't have tappets as such, it has buckets and shims.

Head gaskets are around £50 a bank.

Www.powerstores.co.I'm have prices for engine components like the ones you mentioned. As it happens, I always thought that 4.5's had the same stroke as 4.2's. I wouldn't have thought you would have wanted to stroke an ajp anyway? Other than to comfort it of course.

Yep buckets and shims, had a bit of a blank when typing that out. Purely curious about the strokers as they have been mentioned on here before.

Last thing I'd want to do to the AJP really.

Talk to Andy @ APM, he's hugely knowledgable and has some great ideas, how about a nice 4.7 conversion. cloud9

He may give you a good idea of what works and what doesn't.
