The g/f is looking for a new car to run her to work and back and we came across this. Don't worry, not as mental as it sounds as we are both used to TVR and Porsche running costs but the thought of putting 40k on a Tam as opposed to on a VRs is a so much more appealing way to spend £5-£6k max in depreciation!

Do you know if it has had a recent rebuild, as that is one of the early speed six engines, so they sometimes had a few cam finger follower problems, needing top end rebuilds. Also depends if it has been looked after and warmed up properly before using to much right foot.

Yer seems a bit of a bargain just wish I could jump in with the 4k extra if anything goes wrong!
Also just to confirm if I were to do 15k miles in a year in basic service running costs i would be looking at 2k. (inc tyres)
I suppose the unknown would be financially scary for me

John, That looks very cheap. Especially considering most other 02 plates are going for 16k plus. I'd get it very carefully checked out including a valve check - worth booking it into a dealer for the inspection.
Might be OK but the main reason I went for a 2004 car was to get the later spec engine, obviously this is not to say all 02 ones will go but I wanted to try and stay as safe as possible.

OK it's a cat D but as we all know boidywork is expensive on these cars and they can be written off for the smallest reasons, plus it's the most expensive to paint. Providing the repairs check out I think it would be the better bargain.
