Service indicator and MOT

The OH's 120d had its service light come on the other day so we booked it in at the local dealer. When she turned up they said it had come on because the car is due for its MOT.

Now the car is a 54 plated car and was registered in Feb 05. So it was MOT'd in Feb 08. so either:

a: the dealers are talking testicles
b: the service indicator is more rubbish than I first thought

Has anyone else had the service light come on for an MOT??

Well there is a reminder in there for "Statutory Vehicle Check" which is basically the MOT.

So in March 09 I expect the service light to come on for the MOT.

Thsi is ahy I'm a tad concerned, cos when OH said.. It was MOT'd in feb they trned around and said, oh Ok.. we'll reset the service indicator and sent her on her way.
