The spellcheck/predictive text thing got me thinking of some of the classic fun that can be had when people mishear song lyrics or general conversations etc.

Always makes me laugh when I think back to saying the Lords Prayer at school and one girl in our class religiously used to say the following and believed that these were the true words:-

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Harold be thy name

Didn't matter how many times we tried to tell her she insisted God was called Harold!

Woman at my work thought the line "When I grow up, I wanna have groupies" said 'Boobies' on "When I Grow Up" by the Pussycat Dolls. hehe

When I first heard it, back in '84, having never heard of the film that was about to come out, I thought Ray Parker Jr was singing 'Those bds', and couldn't work out how he was getting away with it. hehe

"Excuse me while i kiss this guy."

It took a good few years to know i'd got it wrong rather than just think, I'm sure that's not what he says...

I don't know the band and don't remember the precise lyrics, but bear with me...

I heard my SWMBO singing along to a song with a chorus that goes something like "I've never been this far from home before". She was singing "I've never been this far with the pope before".

hehe

Anyone hear "Grim poodle basher" instead of "Brimful of Asher"? Admittedly not sober when I first heard it, many years ago..

"Oh, Chris Deburg, here my call"

On Keane's "Crystal Ball".

I also thought I'd misheard the themetune to the old western classic "Boss", when I found it was actually saying "They call him Boss, Boss N*G**R."
