Looking for somewhere cheap for a weekend away. Me, Mrs Monkey and our 4 month old son...

Any suggestions? Going abroad in January so looking for somewhere in the UK just for a few days escape.

How cheap is 'cheap'?

Oh and what sort of accomodation do you want?

www.wigwamholidays.com are fun and cheap if you don't mind sacrificing luxuries.

great suggestion Chris, been on loads of these all over Scotland... but not with a 4 month old baby!

B+B or a caravan would be fine...

Cheap as in, get on ferry book into a Formula 1 cheap. Or a little more than 30 euro a night for all of you?

Depends on what you're looking for really - if you book a Travelodge a few weeks in advance you can get family rooms for a little as £25.

Then its just down to finding one near an area that gives you loads to do.

Would also be a good idea to get searching through some discount code/voucher websites for 2-4-1 entry to tourist attractions etc to make days out cheaper. Can't think of any names off the top of my head at the mo.

managed to price 3 nights in a travelodge near birmingham, tickets for cadburyworld... including tank of fuel for the car at about £150!

Only to be told that the 4 hour drive would be too much for the baby.

GRRRRR

bks.

Cant win with women, can you?

Anyone know of anywhere in the Lake district or similar?

4 month old son.

Not getting any due to lask of sleep and other assosiated baby stuff?

Trying to revive her love for "Mr Happy"?

Speaking from experiance if you want to plough some furrows that weekend don't have your child within a 50 mile radius, that is, employ the services of a baby sitter.

You know the bit in your head that pings when someone has touched the heating thermostat in your house? Well woman have that bit replaced with a "thinking about the baby" sensor.

Get out the baby sensor radius and you'll be back to your old drty weekend tricks, don't and you'll spend the weekend in the ensuit knocking one out because she's not in the mood as the babys in the same room.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Edit - Crap, I misread the title, thought you said "Dirty Cheep weekend" Bloody brain, bloody lunch time pint.....as you were....(mumble, fool, why would anyone take their child on a drty weekend, mumble)

cheers Carl!

Dont worry, still getting it... just want a few days away from here thats all!

And youre right, she cant even leave baby with his gran for any more than 3 hours; so he needs to come too! Baby radar is way too strong.

A baby that young will go straight to sleep on a car journey. It's only older kids who get bored and play up.

Read my edit, sorry mate, your lucky 2 bloody years and it's still not up to "pre baby" humping levels.

Also judging by the "Tourist Attraction" thread CadburyWorld is complete pants so its probably for the best.

Probably an idea to get some acceptable places from the OH first that are within baby transportation limit and then work from there.

Failing that - just say you're going to go on your own if she's not a little more flexible - I'm sure she'll change her mind quickly enough!
