Anyone able to recommend an auto-electrian that is able to carryout service/repairs to dynamo's in our patch. Previously I have sent this sort of thing away for specialist attention, but this adds another 40 quid in postage and it would be good to find a local Company.

Brandon Auto Electric?

I use them for alternators and starter motors - they've probably got the required expertise - always do a fine job NOT a clean and paint with rugger ball else like some I've used in the past!!!

There's a dynamo/alternator man in Leiston. He's retired now but still does repairs/rebuilds from his house in Abbey Rd.

I used them quite a bit when i lived in Brandon (old kit car with dodgy wiring = lots of visits), great blokes. I 've seen dynamos on the bench waiting to be picked up, and some of them were definately pre-war.

Thanks guys, the dynamo on my Bayliss Thomas is directly driven from the engine and has always let oil by and onto the brushes. Time for a fix.
