Bonnet Release 'toggle'

Does it come off?

I've found a nice alloy bit in the cupboard which I think might work as an alternative for the under the dash bonnet release toggle. So before I go breaking anything I thought I'd ask if anyone knows if it comes off the cable and how.

Pretty sure it comes of but dont ask me how...I am sure Leven or someone else produced an ali one?

I always thought it was moulded on to the cable, most releases are.

Thats right, if you undo the mounting bracket from the dash, place the pull against something hard and tap it with a hammer it will crack and come off.

I have a Griff door opener on mine.
