I was a member, but have just let my membership expire, because I am selling my car.
I had it for five years and loved every minute of it.
The GTOUK club were always very helpful and a great source of info.
They were particularly helpful when I had to source a new ECU. All the suppliers and breakers laughed at me, but a quick post on the GTOUK site yielded a replacement within days.
My car is now for sale on the PH classifieds, if anyone is interested.

Not overly, they just need to be serviced correctly by people who know what they are doing. Unfortunately in recent years a fair few GTO/3000GT's have fallen into the hands of people who either cannot afford to run them or cannot be bothered to service them correctly, and when they break through misuse or incorrect servicing they get chucked onto ebay or autotrader for a couple of grand or less - which of course drives the values of the decent honest cars right down. If you do look at buying one, buy the best your budget can afford - a two grand GTO usually needs £2-3k spending again to make it a decent example.

Check out www.sumiyaka.co.uk for a guide to servicing costs.

Cheers biggrin

Late Mk 1 GTO TT owner for over 4 years now. Best 'bangs for bucks' bar none, anywhere.
Keep it properly serviced and don't over-boost it or try for a new quarter mile record and it runs beautifully and nothing breaks; at least, not in my experience.
GTOUK is a great forum and club, too.

You will find alot of info at www.3si.com or www.gtouk.co.uk. These cars are awesome!! One of the better looking cars with 4wd, 4ws, active aero spoilers and electronic suspension which is still modern technology....

As for people doing up 3000GT/GTO there are not that many cars(road legal)on here running 838bhp and 1/4miles @10.490.... yikes
