Hi all. The glue/stuff that holds the TVR badge/cover (which covers the wheel hub nut) on my front left (passenger) wheel has worn out and I have lost the TVR badge/cover. Does anybody know where I can get a spare one from? The car is a 1980 Series 1 Tasmin, with original factory wheels. I have included a couple of pics to show you all what I mean:

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hmm, These are the Telecast wheels right? I too am looking for some emblems. I did consider getting some inserts machined up from Acetal to receive the later style badges. This will probably run around £200 in machine shop time for four off, but would reduce drastically for a bulk order. The Telecast wheels have a press fit aluminium casting that holds the badge, and most tyre places end up pressing the decal out, before they figure out how to remove the casting...

Of course, If anyone has access to a lathe, I could supply some engineeering sketches.

Hi Jim. Thanks for the help. Yes you are right - they are indeed the original telecast wheels. However the TVR badge/cover appears to have been glued/stuck on with some sort of junk when Flasher re-built the car, rather than have been pressed on. Don't really won't to pay out £200 for a set of 4 badges/covers, but on the other hand, with one of the badges/covers missing the car looks a bit 'odd' and untidy. Any other ideas Jim or anybody else?

Thanks for that Mark!!

I got the badges from TVR. I dont know whether they have any left? As it was, I had spent a fortune rebuilding the car and made up some inserts for the caps with some plastic tubing and glued the badges on.

To have some proper inserts made would cost a fortune, the wheels were made by GKN and are irreplaceable.

Wish I could help more but I was faced with same dilemna as you and came up with the best solution I could, they lasted four years so it wasn't that bad a bodge!!

Andy - I'm really sorry if I've offended you in any way. I didn't mean to and I wasn't trying to have a go at you. You did a good job in rebuilding the car and I'm really proud to own a very rare TVR, not to mention one owned by you....

I wasn't sure how the badges were attached and just wonderd if anyone could help me locate another one, as I'm really gutted that I managed to loose one in the first place Didn't even know that they were originally designed to go into inserts.

Sorry once again if I've upset you Andy.

You haven't upset me at all mate! I'm just gutted you lost one. I think you should call someone at TVR and ask nicely if anyone can help you. I think if you speak to the right person you may get what you are after. Alternatively, I would ask Richard Thorpe at Wedge Automotive and see if he has any lying around from Tasmin challenge cars, parts must be easier to come by now that so many cars have been ripped up for the Tasmin Challenge....
