Hi to all Cerbera owners,
I am from Cyprus and I have just import a TVR Cerbera redrose that is on 39000 miles and is 2001 manufacture date.
Its a very good car with the usual plus and minus points of a TVR. The car have the following problem at the moment. When is cold the engine is running on full power without any misfires e.t.c, but when it runs for 15 minutes the engine start to make misfires and not on full power under hard acceleration. I suspect the spark leads because I have just changed the oil and sparks(NGK). Anything similar happen to you? Please advise. By the way just for the discussion the car is amazing!!!

Thanks,
Michael G.

Leads and then coil packs would be first ports of call, however if you have had the leads off recently to do the plugs then check they are all really well pushed on.. I had loads of grief with one that refused for ages to sit properly.

I assume its just the way you have worded this. But you don't accelerate hard/full power when the engine is cold do you?

I dont accelerate full when the engine is cold but I mean you understand that the engine is pulling from the very low revs and even with half the pedal, but when the engine is warm by just giving some gas you understand that they are misfires.

I know that the leads may not sit all of them well but it was misfiring before I change the sparks, so i guess i will go on with the new leads. What about the leads do you have anything good to suggest? I saw the tvr shop's original at 55UKP and seems to be a good price. Anything better out there?
By the way in the engine bay the purple hoses are faded and become brown instead of purple, where can I find new ones?

Cheers,
Michael G

Geia sou QuitequietCerb, you name doesn't match on the Cerberas!!! Do you speak Greek?
The short induction and generic maps I will search them to see what i will find. Do you think is causing the misfires? Or did you suggest them in order to replace the purple hoses?

Thanks,

vevaia milaw ellinika! your misfire may be caused by corroded ignition leads, or you may need to change your spark plugs, had that happening to mine. Concerning short induction and maps, speak to joools at trackcar solutions he should be able to help.

Enjoy your beast!!

All of a sudden my O level in French doesn't sem too impressive hehe

Short induction won't help you as gazzab says .. you have a fault which needs addressing. Most running prolems on cerbs are HT lead / coil pack related. It's worth replacing them anyway just for peace of mind.

Joo, he was asking about replacing the purple/brown pipes as a seperate question. smile Thats why we're suggesting short induction to replace them rather than original... thumbup
