Thinking of uploading some of my pics to my website to make them available as a wallpaper download.

My screen resolution has a maximum size of 1280X1024, but my pc is a few years old now. What other popular screen resolutions are people using that I should make my wallpapers available in?

Now that's useful. Why didn't I see that earlier?

Only problem is with the last option - 1600x1200 or bigger. Has a lot of votes, but are they using 1600x1200, or something bigger? wink

Speaking for myself, as I voted 1600x1200 or bigger, mine is 1680x1050. I would guess that if you offered a standard shaped one at 1280x1024 and a widescreen one at 1680x1050 then they would be suitable for most users.

You have to remember that we are not typical users in here.

(far higher percentage of big screens).

I run all my monitors at 1920 x 1200 - my neighbour still runs 800 x 600 (yikes)

I offer free wallpaper at two sizes, http://www.stevecarter.com/freewallpaper.htm when I can be arsed, I'll add a widescreen version. Remember that screens with more res can either 'expand to fit' or put up with a border. So 1024 or 1280 is good for most.

That sounds like a fair compromise Steve. Think I'll allow a standard 1280x1024 version and a widescreen version (1280x768). If I also aloow a 1600x1200, people can alter that to suit.

I'd say 1920x1200 & 1600x1200 for max res. if you want to control the crop for the 4:3 aspect people smile

Everyone else can scale the image down smile

Cheers.
