Iv'e been looking for my TV remote for about 20 mins and just noticed the washing machine making a funny noise. On closer inspection it is my remote that is stck in it. I've stopped the machine but can't open it untill the water has drained. Is it likely to work once dried out, as I don't think I can turn the tv over without it. bks

I'm sorry, but ....

Take the battery out and put the remote in the airing cupboard, then see if it works tomorrow. But probably not. If you have Sky, program the Sky remote to control your TV. smile

Why did you put the TV remote in the washing machine

I don't have sky, but all is well. I've just spent 5 mins blowing into it. Stuck some new batteries in and now apart from looking rather battered it works fine. AS such I would definitely recomend Philips TV's to anyone with a boat.

I'd put it somewhere warm to dry for a bit longer, otherwise you may find some of the metals on the circuit boards corrodes and it will gradually stop working.

Set the microwave to full heat, place it in there with the batteries for 2 minute (the batteries need to dry out as well), alternatively place it under the grill for 10 minutes, turning to obtain an even brown on each side.

Try turning on the DVD player - if it makes horrible grinding noises, you've probably put some grubby boxer shorts in there as well.

Probably the same reason my wife has put two mobile phones through ours.
