I have looked in the classifieds on her, on Ebay and in Autotrader but at the moment I can’t see a car of the specification I want…

Is there any where else I should look?

Just in case any of you guys n girls are browsing, I am looking for a Mark 1 or 2 in Red, Green, black, yellow, low or lowish miles (less than 80K) and the car MUST have air con. I have also placed an advert in the classifieds.

Any links to sites I should look on?

By stipulating air 99 times out of a 100 you are looking at a Eunos. There's loads available all over autotrader, ebay and here. What's your budget? Any other gadgets on your must have list?

Thanks, didn’t realise that most Uk cars didn’t come with air con….

I guess my ideal specification would be a red car, black interior, air con, standard bodywork, air bags, sub 80 k miles. I have a budget up to £4.5k but would prefer to spend less if I can…

Are there any sites where enthusiasts sell there cars?

You'll get a cracking car for 4.5K - you are well into late MK2 territory.

Could also check MX5Nutz - http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?s=56a7f9103...

As well as here and autotrader of course - this one suits?

Just to be pedantic - a Jap market Mk1 would be a Eunos Roadster. The Eunos name covered a range of Mazda cars similar to Lexus for Toyota. Also, it only applies to Mk1s. The Eunos brand was dropped so Mk2's onwards are just Mazda Roadsters.

As for AC - there are very few UK Mk1s with AC, a few more Mk2s and actually a fair number of Mk2.5s.
Mine is a Mk2.5, red with AC, about 50k miles, standard bodywork, air-bags and leather heated seats (custom light-grey jobbies that are (currently sitting in the garage) so mostly meets your needs. I've since added an intercooled supercharger, uprated shocks & springs, Elise S2 seats & Hard-Dog dual-hoop roll-bars. It's NOT FOR SALE though biggrin

T5SOR - is that the '89 Mk.1 in your profile? Have you had anything done to it?

hahaha, that sounds alright until you read the last paragraph and see what was snuck in there:

"IT DRIVES LIKE NEW AND I CAN'T IMAGINE YOU WILL FIND A NICER CATD MAZDA MX-5 S-VT SPORT FOR ANYTHING NEAR THE PRICE OF THE RESERVE OF THIS ONE."

He doesn't mention that it was Cat D anywhere else in the article - honest but sneaky!

I've just read the whole ad 3 times and still didn't spot the sneaky CATD buried within the ad. The seller obviously has something to hide otherwise he would hve been straight up and perhaps tried explaining the reasons why it was CAT D

I'm relieved. I'm selling my MX-5 at the moment and was absolutely horrified at the price he was asking hehe

I'm also wondering wh he's chosen the older style sport wheels - cars of 54 vintage come with the twin 5-spokers. scratchchin

Thanks all. Looks like there may be a change of plan… I was going to keep my Caterham and buy an MX5 to use as well…. However, I may now sell the Caterham and replace it with an Elise. I am going to look / drive one the weekend.

Decisions decisions…
