service schedule

Hi
I have an 18 month old 335d coupe and the service mileage indicator tells me I have another 7000 miles to go until the next service. When I look at the service scheule in IDrive it says the oil needs changing in 8000 miles and all the other consumables (& inspection)needs changing at a later date or later mileage. Can anyone suggest why it would say I need it sooner than the oil change at 8000 miles. Other than needing an MOT or brake fluid change I thought the governing factor was the oil change interval - every two years or about 18,000 miles depending on how its been driven.
