DVLA Offer Ferrari Numbers
'Sealed bids' are invited for Ferrari- related numbers
Two fabulous Ferrari-related registration plates are up for grabs in the DVLA’s first ever ‘sealed bid’ auction.
250 SWB and 250 TDF have a reserve price of only £1,200 each, but are expected to reach far more. Last summer the celebrity car enthusiast Chris Evans paid £5.6 million for a 1961 250 GT SWB, while the 250 GT Tour de France is one of the rarest Ferrari models in existence.
If you fancy a punt on either plate, you’ve got until October 31st to register and place your sealed bid.
There are 1,498 other personalised plates up for grabs in the same auction, so to save you the trouble of ploughing through them all, 250 SWB is lot number 1278, and 250 TDF is lot number 1336. You will let us know if you win either of them, won’t you?
If the DVLA could put the money into training their staff to read, double bag their work they might not come up with the criticism about shoddy service, errors with licence entitlement.
I suppose anyone with a Ferrari in this instance can well afford the special plates on offer, I'd rather have their money!
Love the 250SWB too (and all of them).
I think the most attractive of them all is the Lusso.
However, the 250GTO is maybe the most desirable because it was a very successful racing car, it looks mean as hell, and if you believe what you read - it is a very good car.
I think that the opportunity to own a GTO is so rare, even for billionaires, that any colour is good so long as it is the correct (original).
Obviously the Nick Mason GTO is the one, with the number plate 250GTO, but I had a very close look at one that was a very light turquoisey colour- and it is one of the most stunning cars ever!
When I'm rich I'm gonna get a GTO recreation and have it restored to being a 250 GTE, just to redress the balance !

I've looked through that link with all the different Ferraris on, here, but I just can't match it up!
It's just like, or maybe is, the one that Ferris Bueller's mate's dad owns isn't it, that accidently get's the mileage wound up a bit, and then destroyed... Either way, I vote that one pictured, but in Red, as the most beautiful car in the world

I think the Ferris Bueller car is a Datsun 240Z replica of the California, hence the 'close but not quite' appearance.
