Chaps

I'm not sure if this is allowed (Mods, please remove if inappropriate and apologies in advance if so) but thought I'd post just in case it isn't.

If anyone has any land in the UK that they wish to sell now I'd welcome the opportunity of bidding for it. Happy to look at land across the UK, with or without planning on an unconditional (cash now, no deferments) basis.

Thanks

The Savaloy.

What sort of money are you looking to spend? I have access to a whole load of opportunities and also have a few on our books ourselves at the moment.

Haworth - We're told nothing at Barratt regarding what the top brass are or are not doing regarding selling land etc etc. They've tried to sell Wilson Bowden developments (commercial development arm of Barratt) but that's gone very quiet recently. If they've not got WB away (and it's income producing don't forget) what hope do they have of selling thousands of acres of greenfield land (ie, land without hope of planning in the next 5 years?)

But from my experience in this market it's going to be very tough to sell anything in this market (and get a reasonable price for it) and not take a massive hit.

Apart from anything else it's finding a buyer able and more important, willing to part with cash right now. That's the key. Parting with cash right now. There's plenty of firms out there willing to contract on a price now but defer the payments until 2009 or later.

Mind you - it could be worse. I could be working for Taylor Wimpey......
