Kev,
Check out Nobleparts, don't know if the 2.5 is the same as the 3ltr but there are many parts numbers. All do the same but come from different places like Jag, ford.
On Noble parts I put a link to a guy on ebay for recon parts, was quite cheap and very good service. on the 2.5 it was easy to change.

He made up a neoprene patch as a stop gap and refurbed the old one....
yeah -need to be careful that you get exactly the right one. I had one fitted by a main dealer and the mechanic noticed that the solenoid terminals were much closer to the fuel tank than the old s/motor. When the engine twists under acceleration it was feasible that it could short against the tank

Not an issue on the 2.5, its no where near the tank

Just to update, I have bought a starter from Hillmart UK Alternators & Starter Motors, http://www.alternatormart.co.uk/Purchase_Page.htm (martin) £108.53 inc vat and next day delivery. Part No ST2845 NXN357T11000AC
Martin has supplied these starters to Noble direct, so we are hoping that it is the right one!!! If not he will accept the item as a return.
My starter is more towards the intercooler side if the engine, so it wont touch the fuel tank.
