Currently have a Civic Jordan, had it for 7 years, super car but now on 100,000 miles! Thinking of a change to a Celica about 2004/2005 car, 1800cc. I know my Jordan will leave it for dead but are they any good? Road holding, handling, quick - revy engine, driving experience etc.

Not speaking from experience just from speaking to people who own such a car. I imagine your civic will be more fun to drive, as well as faster as you said. probably wrong time to be selling a car also?

The 140 is a good car, but i agree with the comment about the Jordan being more fun.
Plus it's rarer and surely with 100K on the clock it can keep going no worries anyway?

Yeah, I imagine that car could take a lot more than 100k if hondas reputation is anything to go by

why not spend the money you would have spent on the Celica upgrading the suspension, brakes and engine on your Honda?

Spoon cams, headwork, and an exhaust and you will have a true screamer!

If I were you I would spend the money refreshing the Jordan. Maybe get the engine rebuilt (with a few upgrades?), freshen up all the suspension and steering etc.

I was really suprised how slooooow the 140 was. The 190 is quicker but you really have to trash the nadgers of it (but you might like that coming from a Honda). The engines don't sound as nice the Honda when worked either.

What about an Integra?

Bare in mind the Celica 140 only has 140BHP, so you can't compare it with a Civic Type R etc, as they have 25% more power.

I bought a 140, and loved it! Handling is awesome for a standard set-up, i managed to embarrass some much quicker cars round tracks, and as long as you thrash the absolute knackers out of it, you will love the way it goes, not rocket quick, but plenty quick enough for day to day driving. These cars are designed to be thrashed, the redline should be seen as a target, not a warning if you want the most of it.

I recently chucked a 190 engine in, and OMG, those extra 50 ponies make a hell of a difference.

If i was you i'd go for a 190, just try and take one on a test drive, and if you don't enjoy it, you have something wrong with you, just make sure you hit the magic Lift at 6k rpm.

He's got a Civic Jordan, I suspect he knows about the 'lift' as you put it wink

My mum had a Celica 140 and swapped it for a 190. Tells you everything you need to know.
