Hi DragHeads !

I have a question considering some cars that start both in one of the "Super" classes,
AND in one of the ET classes.

Some devices like throttle stops are allowed in the Super classes S/ST, S/G, and S/C ,
but are not allowed in ET Bracket classes.

How is this handled by drivers and looked after by tech inspectors,
are they taken out of the cars or made powerless / disconnected ?

Some drivers in germany are thinking of doing double duty for 2009,
and we did not have that situation in the past.

Regards,
Benni

It's quite obvious if the throttle stop is in use in a class where it's not permitted, so there shouldn't be a problem. But even so, some of the other drivers complained when we ran in both classes, so we ended up putting the throttle stop controller on a quick release connector, and physically removing it from the car when running in Pro ET or Super Pro ET. That seemed to appease everyone.

few things to consider, what transbrake they gonna run, 400 or 500,if they can red light the car on a pro tree then it can get kinda hard trying to go round,s and find a happy place on a sportsman tree, we find trying to run both super gas and comp consistantly can get tough,eg stop times, how fast the stop shuts on and off, shift times, trying to keep the mph up in the slower class, is an art in itself,i think running in an et AND a super class can throw you the curved ball, it CAN be done successfully, speak to Spence or Cris they will guide you.
Things like pager weather stations are a real help and having a car that is capable of 15 passes a day will make a differce, alcohol (not the drinking variety!)really helps on this, once you have doubled entered you really need to be well organized as stuff like refuelling between rounds with your helmet gloves and neck brace on can get fun!!! shouts of where,s that f...... dsuz tool gone!! are often heard in our pits.
as to running stops and delay boxes in et classes its a no no so you normally set the car up for a super class with reduced throttle eg a bolt under pedal, and then run in et mode

IIRC the wiring on a delay box/stop controller runs something like this: live feed for the box, plus feed from transbrake button in; feed to transbrake solenoid, and feed to throttle stop solenoid, out. So you can mount your box/stop controller on a plate which is Dzused into place on the car, and have your electrical connections on a quick-release plug. When you unplug and remove the controller box for ET racing, you replace the plug from the controller box with another one which simply has a wire 'loop' to complete the transbrake connection. You can then swap between modes in about a minute. The fact that you will still have the actual air piston or whatever in the throttle linkage doesn't matter because you have no way of activating it without the control box, and the tech guys understand this. Your exact wiring loom for your box may be a little different, but this is the principle, and has been used in the past. Good luck!
