I have a mark on my drivers seat where the colour of my belt (brown) seems to have come off when pressed against the seat. I have tried various mild cleaners that easily remove marks from jeans etc but the brown belt mark remains.

Can anyone recommend a suitable product that will get this off?

What products have you tried so far, you may have dye transfer from the belt to the seat.

i think its dye transfer, its the same colour as the belt.

I have only tried leather cleaning wipes and mild soapy water, but it still wont budge.

You could try Gliptone leather cleaner or Chemical Guys leather cleaner, both of which I have had excellent results with. Failing that have a word with L.T.T. - http://www.lttsolutions.net/ they may have something that can help, or be able to recommend somebody that can remove the dye tramsfer.

Look at lttsolution.co.uk for some of the best 'industry' products available. These will help with your problem which is very common re light coloured leathers.

You want to buy some leather maxi cleaner, which will remove the dye transfer. Not over expensive but do not over use or over apply, be gentle.

Thanks for the swift replies. I've ordered a few bits from LTT. They were very helpful.

I'll let you know the results.

Got the LTT kit, great cleaning and protection products but couldn't get the dye transfer off.

They recommended a specialist in my area who popped round and had it all gone in about 15 mins!

I've used thinners before for such things, with good results.

They can also be used to take the shine off "glazed" leather.

You MUST test on an inconspicuous area first.
