Good news and bad news

Coming back from Dartmouth yesterday(monday) the heavens opened and it rained like i have never seen before, the good news is the car handled like a dream, at a constant high speed no wash outs, stuck to the road like chewing gum, no leaks through the targa roof and the wind noise at a minimum.

However the bad news when i got home my wife noticed that the passenger side door at the bottom on the suede, was soaking, on closer inspection it looks like maybe the bottom of the door seal rubbers have gone slightly hard and have been compressed in one place not creating a perfect seal, so i presume this must be the cause of the wet door panel.

Has anyone else had this experience and if so what was your cure????

Hi Stephen,

The door seal has a compressed bit to let water out if it should happen to run down the inside of the seal. If you look it is the same on both sides (if they are the same as the Tam and I think they are) so I doubt its getting in there. I suspect its the window seal letting water into the inside of the door and soaking up the door card. Let me know how you get on.

It happened on mine but it was really bad weather and it didn't happen again so I put it down as a one off. I would do the same or take the door card off and have a look. Not done this myself so i dont know how easy it is.
