Quick question for those who may be in the know, i was considering putting by S4 B5 avant up for sale but looking the the PH classifieds it looks like of all the S4's (approx 68 for sale) only 4 are showing as sold.
Is the market really that bad for these at the moment? Also, pricing seems to be a bit all over the place with 4.5K - 8K range, are they really that sensitive to spec/colour etc?

No real demand for them at the moment sadly, we had a lovely one recently which took an age to sell.

The disparity in pricing is mostly down to 'enthusiast' (for want of a better term) owners pricing cars at what they'd like to get rather then their market value.

Really suprised there's little demand for them, pre 2001 tax brackets, well engineered, good support network from specialists.
Saw the one you guys had in the classifieds, took me a bit by suprise as it was priced lower than i paid for mine approx a year ago (private sale). They were fetching good money at the start of year.

now many high mileage at 100k+ so coming up to Turbo's replacement time- reading on Rs246 is enough to put most off! Interior is getting pretty dated (have a B5 so can judge). To get most out of them you need to mod and times are tight for many at that budget level.

But excellent cars for the right price.

All the B5 S4's are 7 + years old now, some are 10, so 100k miles is to be expected. Reliability wise, the turbos need to be looked after to last well but there are cars with 200k+ miles on original turbos. There are 2 interiors, pre & post facelift, the facelifted ones are much more modern.
