I wonder if any of you can recommend to me a good exhaust fabricator in the Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire areas?

My kit car is way too loud and I am in danger of getting a 'pull' if I leave it as it is.

Thanks in advance.

There's an exhaust specialist in St.Albans that a mechanic friend of mine used to 'create' an exhaust for an old Mercedes! On London Road, though can't remember the name... Hang on, I think this is it... Top Gear St Albans Ltd., 152 London Road, ST. ALBANS, AL1 1PQ

I go past that every day, and you're not wrong! Most of them still seem to be in primer, is this the latest fashion?

There's a custom shop in Hitchin, they fabricate SS systems or whatever you need. X-Tec design

Thanks Octane. thumbup

I've finally decided to go with a guy in Coventry who built a system for a friend's Stratos' replica.

I have seen his work and I'm pretty impressed by it.

I'll see what I can do once the car's back down with me.

There's a film put up by a Pher (Rob67) of his Eleanor Mustang blasting through the Hatfield Tunnel, I fancy a go at that in my car early next year. smile

Anything and everything you need to know about Stratos' and especially Stratos' reps, can be found here on our website forum.

Thank you Blib, that's a truly lovely machine you have there. Have I seen it around the borders? I live in Aberdeenshire these days but from Duns originally. I was down there last year and thought I saw a red Stratos over near Jedburgh.

Thanks Jollygreen. I've wanted one of these sfrom the moment I first saw one on TV in the 70's. O.K., it's a replica but I can't afford a real one and they are as rare as hen's teeth anyway. smile

The red car that you saw was not mine I'm afraid. There are several Strats in Scotland. At least one is used or has been used as a daily driver.
