midlands pro street M.O.T help!
Discussion
Hi
Im looking for someone/company who will be willing to M.O.T test my pro street opel manta in the midlands area (i live in warwick in the midlands so the closer the better!) it may sound strange but im struggling to find someone willing to M.O.T her
Anyone know a M.O.T station in my area who would give her the test?
thanks for your time

look up "risk assesment" and "health and safety", any employee may refuse to acrry out any task they consider perilous and woe betide the employer who ignores them.the mechman said:

I think you'll be suprised at how many of us do just that; this year I took mine to a new MOT station, took 30 minutes to explain what it was, gave them a copy of the 2007 SE dvd and let them loose on it. It passed.veryoldfart said:
do you have to fit narrower rear tyres for the test? i wondered if the normal brake test rollers were wide enough for RV's treads, and what were the emissions figures, i doubt "1973 vauxhall victor 8000cc" (ish) appears on the VOSA list....lol
1973 car is tested fro visible smoke only- tyre smoke doesn't count!I enquired about this recently as the engine going in my (1968) car is from 1993, but was told (to my suprise) it's still tested as a 1968 car.
Hi there, don't know if you've got you MOT sorted yet, but if not, I know a garage in Warwick that will do it, I've just spoken to the owner there and he said he'd be happy to do it.
They have always been good and reliable with mine, my dad's and my OH's various cars over the past few years ('normal' cars though, not pro-street!!)
If you want his name/number please PM me.

OK, I'll bow to your superior knowledge. How long have you been an MOT tester?Edited by falcemob on Friday 24th October 17:25

The MT radials fit fine in the rollers. My brakes far exceed what a 1972 Vauxhall victors should be.Actually 8300cc is what it says on the computer, because it says that on the logbook...My Manta passed today
the MOT station that i booked it in with wouldnt do it in the end!, they did point me towards another garage that did do it and it passed with no probs! its the 1st pro street car ive driven on the road, when i drove out onto the road for the 1st time, might sound strange but it felt so wroooong!
but good wrong if you get me! driving what is a "race car" on the street for the 1st time was just a awasome feeling, happy days ahead i hope! maybe even a trip to shakey tomorrow!............

Well done on that, what excuse did the garage use to refuse to test it?

He said it wouldn't fit on his ramp!...think it would have but i understand it could have been dangerous, he did point me to another garage who done the M.O.T and it passed
