I take it the engine is still in the car? I changed the sumps over on a couple of ajp's that were on engine stands- easy enough as you can imagine. In terms of doing it in situ, then you would have to get the gearbox off too in order to get to a few bolts behind the flywheel. That said, a gearbox off on a cerb isn't that bad. Just make sure you seal the threads on the flywheel bolts as you'll get oil tracking through from the sump if not.

How come your thinking of doing it anyway?

When i got the engine put in the car after my crankshaft went pop, bang, snap theres a leak from around the sump plug, thinks its mabye got a crack in it but not had a good look. Its just a very small leak but i still want it fixed, i might just use some liquid metal from my work

I would probably go down the instant metal compound route too, but there is a reasonable chance that the sump plug just isnt getting a good seal.
