Hi

I am thinking about upgrading my shocks but i have a few questions, which i think you guys might be able to help with.

With the nitrons( or other makes), what real difference does it make to the handling. does it make it firmer or plusher, does it tend to bang over bumps now(I have been told this is one of the down sides) how does it help with the handling.

My biggest concern with standard set up is the car tends to be a bit jittery over bumps, is this the shocks or is it because the car is so light?

While i feel the car is planted most of the time, there are occasions that it will skip which can be un nerving at high speeds.

Million dollar question, are the Nitrons the best set up or is there a better option.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

Stephen
PS I have done a search on this forum and am still needing some more encouragement.

I went to Intrax which were a huge improvement. They are also easily adjustable to that if you want them softer you can have them softer or if out on a hoon or track, stiffen them up.

IF the Geo is sorted properly then most of the aftermarket shocks I know of (Gaz, Reds etc) will give you excellent handling IMHO. My Tam , when on the road settings, has a lovely controlled ride. There is always a 9much reduced) feeling you are in a lighter car but TBH the shocks and suspension, if correctly set up, should minimise that.

Hi Stephen,

Pop round sometime after next week (Car down at Dulfords for a service) and you can have a go in the Tamora. It has Nitrons with Eibach springs.
