I believe they're legal as long as the tube itself is not visible.

Legal or not - why on earth would you want one? A coloured kitchen light under your car, how ridiculous!

The only lights that you can legal drive with constantly (i.e. not indicators or reverse lights) are red at the back and white at the front.

Presumably, you could drive with a white neon at the front and one at the back. But then again, why would you bother...

I was behind a car with one of these neons underneath.
My immediate thought was...what a complete twat....obviously a young lad under 25.

Are these the same blue neons that most truck drivers seem to have in their windscreens these days. That really annoys me also, and can't be legal, surely ?

personal cant see what the prob is.

1 a neon not going to dazzel any one
2 no one going to mistakes a truck or laxpower car for a bib car.

so what if it looks shit, if there happy looking like a xmas tree than so be it.

let em be happy.

Kinda agree with outlaw here, a pug cruised (sped) through the village tonight and although driving way too fast at least you could see the twat. Come to think of it these guys are painting themselves into a corner really, fogs on, neon washers etc. Forewarned is forearmed...now if only blue neons could be detected by a scamera

Agree with outlaw too - each to their own! When I was much younger ( . . .ahem) the customising craze was to light your car up underneath, red generally, to show off your rear axle (jag preferably). Lots of people did it anyway (including me ). Let em' be - it does give me a laugh too though and takes me back to my yoof everytime I see it

the anti fun brigade will soon proclaim they distract other road users, and will cause accidents (like rubbernecking accidents)

Actually I found it very distracting being behind a car with a neon underneath, as instead of looking at the road ahead, my eyes were focused on the blue neon.

I felt like running the idiot off the road just to put his neon out of action.

Hey not all us under 25's are lax idiots wanting to stick neons under our cars! The biggest inclination to stick neons into my car was under the dash in the mini as the interior light had blown, but hen realised that I would look like a tw@.

I most certainly would not be sticking them under my Tiv.

Rant over.

Cheers

Chris (just 22)
