Have any other of the PH collective seen this?

I saw a trailer for this show on FX (watching "Breaking Bad" featuring Bryan Cranston from Malcolm in the middle), so decided to investigate further, and lordy is it entertaining.

Shame there are only 7 episodes.

Any news of when FX UK will be showing it?

I was a big fan of The Wire, so looking forward to GK.

The Wire was awesome, i wonder if they'll do another series as its Obama's favourite show ?

Also wondering when GK is going to start, heavily trailed then... nothing ?

Tried watching that godawful rubbish "Burn Notice" utter tripe.

Source?!

Also yea, both the Wire and Generation Kill are superb, although I think 7 episodes was enough to cover the time line in Generation Kills entirety, I did not think the Wire ended as well as the rest of the season, although was amazingly enjoyable

The book is an enjoyable read, although not 100% accurate apparently it does show how cowboy some of the american forces are/were.

Haven't seen it personally but my brother thoroughly recommends it.

There was a lengthy advert on FX, an audience with David Simon and Charlie Brooker. quote "Obama went on to say his favourite character was Omar(!)"

Would love to see another series as i think some of the loose ends could've been tidied up a bit more (The Greeks & Marlo) i know the point they're trying to make is that the "Game" carries on regardless but i feel they comprimised slightly on the 5th season (slightly far fetched storyline) so giving some closure wouldn't have been too bad. However with Dominic West and Lance Reddick now off doing other projects i guess a 6th season is off the cards.

Really enjoying the series so far and the picture looks so crisp as well.

The marine that wrote the book stars in it and I think the rolling stone reporter is also the actual guy.

Clearly some awful decisions made by the commanders. It also surprised me that the first recon marines are also badly equipped compared to the traditional army. One guy was ordering armour for his gun position on the hummer and some of those vehicles had zero protection.

The book was written by Reporter. Fruity Rudy plays himself.

I already use the phonetic alphabet as my old man is an ex copper so I grew up using that terminology.

Generation Kill is a cracking show though, two thumbs up from me.

Excellent show, pity its only 7 episodes long.

I too was shocked at the lack of equipment (batteries FFS!) and inept command decisions, the amount of innocent deaths is truly shocking.

Watched it all on download last year - top notch.

(I'm currently watching Brotherhood - also recommended)

Do tell - this slipped under the writer's strike radar...
